May 4th Update

Good Afternoon,

Dooly Totals:
Total Positive Cases: 129
Total Deaths: 11
Pending results: 7

See https://dph.georgia.gov/covid-19-daily-status-report for the complete status report for the state of Georgia. This link will take you straight to the status report for those who didn’t like to weed through the site.

My total will vary from the state site due to duplicates entered in for Dooly County (some people were entered in twice  and it may take some time to get those fixed. I am trying to report the actual numbers so you all will know exactly where we are.
As you can see, we did have 2 more deaths over the weekend. I was notified of them today. One was a community death that has been hospitalized for some time and one was from the nursing home that has also been hospitalized. Please remember these families in your prayers.
All results from April 29th, April 30th, and May 1st were all negative. That is the longest time period we have gone without a positive result from our testing site. The total number tested during those dates were 11.
We have decided to do a longer day of testing on May 11th. The testing time will be 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. I will finalize details and let you all know by Wednesday. I am also considering doing a weekend drive thru testing. As soon as I get approval for that I will let you know.
I hope you all had a great weekend. I have attached some new guidance for exposure and illness. Please read and distribute to your team. Please read carefully. One is for healthcare workers and one is for non-healthcare workers. These are as of May 1st.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

Stay safe, have a great evening, and God bless,

Cyndi Mercer, RN
